Woodfiring is a collaboration between artist, pots/artworks, flame, ash and atmosphere. Forms carry evidence of chance - flashes of flame, deposits of ash, gradients of heat and textures born from hours in the kiln. I am drawn to this tension between control and surrender. Through woodfiring, objects that are created feel alive, yet quiet and still.
